Artist's Description
The Chapel on the Rock (officially, Saint Catherine of Siena's Chapel) is a tourist landmark in Allenspark, Colorado, attracting many tourists throughout the year. The chapel is located on the grounds of the Saint Malo Retreat Center, for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Denver. In 1999, Boulder County designated the chapel as a historic site. Pope John Paul II visited the chapel in 1993. The retreat center was destroyed by a fire in 2011 but the chapel was intact.
