Aquatic Beauty in White
I took this image at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Each flower lasts just 48 hours, on the first night the white (female) opens luring its pollinator (a beetle) with its heady, tuberose scent. After closing for the day, the flower reopens pink and now is a male. On the second night it releases the pollen-coated beetle before submerging to form seeds. Truly unique, fragrant and rare.
